The Economics of Rewilding at Glanllyn Farm
Glanllyn Farm focuses on sustainable, regenerative farming as they invest in resilient herbal lays, reduced erosion and carbon sequestration. However, Farmer Sam is also campaigning for investment to rewild a portion of her land. Sam recognises that the unnatural riverbed on her farm significantly contributes to flooding down river, but it is an expensive project to restore the natural river bed. Sam is petitioning the local government to recognise the costs of flood management and the economics of rewilding her land; by investing in ecosystem restoration now, communities are protected from natural disasters later.
